The historic Dockyard at Chatham has for over 300 years played a highly important role in supporting the Royal Navy. These dockyards built over 400 ships including HMS Victory, Nelsons flagship at Trafalgar.
The dockyard encompasses an area of 80 acres and has been voted Kents attraction of the year, it includes the historic warships HMS Cavalier, HMS Gannet as well as the submarine HM Ocelot. Displays and demonstrations depict the skills of the early shipbuilders and rope makers.
This should prove to be an excellent day out. There are plenty of facilities for obtaining lunch, including open and undercover picnic areas and the licensed Wheelwrights resraurant. By obtaining group and senior concessions we are able to keep the cost down to £18.50 pp.
This cost includes entrance fee, coach fare, drivers tip, and a one and half hour guided tour for our group by a professional guide.
After the tour the rest of the day is our own to explore the many attractions.
The economics of the trip are based on us filling 40 seats of a 53 seat coach. So please invite your friends to support us. Any seats filled over our target figure will enable us to have a refund on the cost.
